At Mazadastore, paying for your books should be the easiest part of your experience. This policy explains how payments work at our store, which methods we accept, and how your information is protected. For any questions, reach out to contact@mazadastore.com.

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept two payment methods at checkout. PayPal allows you to pay using your PayPal balance, linked bank account, or any credit or debit card attached to your PayPal wallet. Stripe processes all major credit and debit card payments, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. Both are among the most trusted payment processors in the world and were chosen for their security, fraud protection, and buyer support.

Currency

All prices on Mazadastore are listed and charged in United States Dollars (USD). If you pay with a card issued outside the United States, your bank may convert the charge to your local currency and apply foreign transaction fees, determined by your card issuer and not controlled by Mazadastore.

When Your Payment Is Processed

Your payment is authorized and captured at the moment you complete your order at checkout, not when the book ships. You will receive an order confirmation email within minutes containing your order number, a full summary of items purchased, payment method used, and total amount charged. If the email does not arrive within 30 minutes, check your spam folder and then contact us.

Full Cost Transparency

Before completing any order, the checkout page displays a clear breakdown of every cost, including the subtotal for books in your cart, the shipping fee if applicable, the sales tax for your specific shipping address, and the final total. You can review this breakdown before entering payment information and leave the checkout at any point without being charged. No additional fees, handling charges, or surcharges appear after you complete your order.

Payment Security

Our website is secured with an SSL certificate, meaning every piece of data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Look for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar to confirm.

We never store your full credit card number on our servers. When you pay by card through Stripe, your details are sent directly to Stripe's PCI DSS Level 1 compliant infrastructure, the highest security certification for payment processors. When you pay through PayPal, your credentials stay within PayPal's secure environment and are never shared with us.

Authorization and Verification

When you submit a payment, your bank or payment provider authorizes the charge to confirm that funds are available and the payment method is valid. Occasionally a payment may be declined or held for verification due to insufficient funds, expired cards, billing address mismatches, suspected fraud flagged by your card issuer, or exceeded transaction limits. When this happens, your order will not be processed and you will not be charged. For high-value orders or transactions flagged by our fraud detection, we may contact you to verify your identity before processing.

Sales Tax

Sales tax is applied based on your shipping address in accordance with applicable state and local tax laws. The exact amount is calculated automatically at checkout and displayed on the order summary before you confirm your purchase, so there are no post-purchase adjustments to your total.

Billing Information Accuracy

When you enter payment information at checkout, make sure the billing address, name on card, and card number all match the information on file with your bank exactly. A mismatch between any of these fields is one of the most common reasons for a payment to be declined. The billing address may differ from the shipping address, and our checkout provides separate fields for both.

Failed or Declined Payments

If your payment fails at checkout, no charge is placed on your account. The authorization attempt may temporarily appear as a pending transaction on your statement but will drop off automatically within 3 to 7 business days depending on your bank. If your payment was declined and you are not sure why, contact your bank or card issuer, as they will have the specific reason on file.

Duplicate Charges

If you believe you have been charged more than once for the same order, contact us immediately at contact@mazadastore.com with your order number and a screenshot or description of the charges. In most cases, what appears to be a duplicate is an authorization hold combined with the final capture, showing temporarily before the hold is released. If we confirm an actual duplicate charge, we refund the duplicate amount immediately.

Chargebacks and Disputes

If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first at contact@mazadastore.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. In almost every case we can resolve the issue directly in 1 to 5 business days, compared to 30 to 90 days for a chargeback. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first may result in the associated order being reviewed and the customer's account being restricted from future purchases. We are committed to resolving every legitimate payment concern fairly.

Fraud Prevention

Mazadastore uses industry-standard fraud detection systems provided by Stripe and PayPal to monitor transactions for suspicious activity. When a transaction is flagged, we may hold the order for brief manual review, contact the customer to verify the purchase, or in rare cases decline the order entirely. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel any order we reasonably believe may be fraudulent. Any authorized funds are promptly released back to the original payment method at no charge to the customer.

Promotional Codes and Discounts

Promotional codes can be applied at checkout in the designated field before completing your payment. The discount is reflected in your order total immediately. Codes cannot be applied after an order is placed. If you forgot to apply a valid code, contact us within 24 hours of placing the order and we will do our best to retroactively apply the discount and refund the difference, though this is handled case-by-case.

Refunds Through Original Payment Method

Refunds always go back to the original payment method used for the purchase. If you paid with PayPal, the refund returns to your PayPal account. If you paid by card through Stripe, the refund goes back to the same card. We cannot process refunds to a different payment method under any circumstances.
